Mr Robin Ryde directs ANZSOG's flagship Executive Fellows Program. He is a business author, leadership and organisational development expert and former CEO of the UK National School of Government. Robin has a broad range of senior level public service experience and was the youngest person to direct the British Prime Minister’s Top Management Programme, one of the largest leadership development programs of its kind in Europe.
He has been both Evaluation Director and HR Director with the UK National Audit Office and an Executive team member of ‘4ps’, now Local Partnerships, the major projects and procurement consultancy for local government. He also headed the UK National School of Government’s leadership centre and has consulted in the UK, the US, South America, Australia, United Arab Emirates and Eastern Europe.
His publications include Creating Authentic Organizations (Kogan Page 2014), Never Mind the Bosses: Hastening the Death of Deference for Business Success (Wiley 2012), and Custom-Built Leadership (2008) and Thought Leadership: Moving Hearts and Minds (2007), both with Palgrave Macmillan. Mr Ryde is a leadership features writer for the UK’s senior public service magazine Civil Service World and writes and guest edits for the International Journal of Leadership in Public Services. He has written widely on issues of employee engagement, horizon scanning, modern approaches to leadership development, talent management and change.
Mr Ryde is a Visiting Fellow of Ashridge Management Centre and is the Head of Leadership with the Oxford Group. Mr Ryde’s belief that strong communication is the basis of good business led him to set up Robin Ryde Consulting Ltd (UK) in order to continue to explore methods for achieving excellence in leadership, facilitation and talent management.
