Recognising public value

Professor Moore's renowned public value model is the focus of Recognising public value – a workshop about identifying and creating public value, and the need for simple, objective and reliable performance measurement and management systems to prove public value.

“Recognising public value helps us understand what matters in public management, and what matters to citizens and politicians,” Professor Moore says. “The private sector has the ‘bottom line’. Finding a compelling version of public value creation takes a lot of work, but it can be done.”

Key benefits

Participants in Professor Moore’s valuable and practical workshop will gain an understanding of how to apply the public value concept.

This workshop is useful for senior and middle public sector executives keen to identify and measure the public value in the work they and their departments do. It is also useful for alumni of ANZSOG’s flagship Executive Fellow’s Program and the Executive Master of Public Administration.

You will improve your capacity to set up robust empirical measures of the public good, and to use performance measurement strategically to align resources with priorities, as well as build knowledge management systems around public value.

Previous participants have described this program as smart, engaging and thought-provoking.
