RMIT Associate Professor Greet Peersman has developed and implemented performance information systems for government and complex international development programs. Greet Peersman is well placed to guide you in this vital area of government work.
“Measuring performance is a requirement in all government work,” Associate Professor Peersman says. “Doing it well is hard. Doing it badly has serious implications.”
Participants attending Making the most of performance indicators will improve their ability to articulate the strengths and limitations of the performance system they work in.
You will develop a better understanding of your role in the system, and return to your workplace better equipped to advocate for, or implement, improvements to the system.
Making the most of performance indicators is pitched at managers and analysts who are directly involved in developing, collecting, analysing, reporting and/or using performance information in government agencies.
Before attending Making the most of performance indicators, participants will be contacted to identify specific needs to assist in tailoring the content. You will also be asked for examples from your practice.
Professor’s Peersman’s workshop will feature interactive discussions, a panel discussion, and individual and small group work. You will get the opportunity to apply your knowledge to your practice. (Note that this workshop does not address the performance of individuals, financial information or methods of determining value for money.)
Making the most of performance indicators will teach you:
