Auckland Smart City: thinking beyond the technology-led urban utopia

‘Smart City’ is the phrase on everyone’s lips, as the globe faces the apparently irresistible rise of huge cities as economic powerhouses. Urbanisation has positively transformed the lives of billions, but the accompanying consumption of massive resources has both socio-economic and environmental impacts which challenge governments and citizens across multiple and complex dimensions.

What can Auckland learn from our eminent visitor and his team’s approach to the future of smart cities around the world?
