Scott Douglas is assistant professor of public management at the Utrecht School of Governance. Before coming to Utrecht, he completed his PhD at Oxford and worked as strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group. Scott’s research focuses on the changing definition of governance success and has published widely in leading journals. Scott has taught at Oxford, the Netherlands School for Public Administration, and the School for Police Leadership. He favors case-based teaching, interweaving key theories and practical dilemmas. Scott is an active public sector advisor, drawing on his expertise in performance management and the complexities of collaborative governance. He has contributed pieces to Dutch national newspapers and provided expert testimony to Parliament. Most recently, he was executive project leader of a governmental evaluation of the Dutch counter-terrorism strategy.
