Renée Fry-McKibbin is a Professor of Economics at the Crawford School of Public Policy and Associate Dean (Research) in the College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University. She was Director of the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis (CAMA) in the Crawford School of Public Policy from 2012-2014 and also co-directs the Finance and the Macroeconomy and Commodities and the Macroeconomy research programs in CAMA. She is a research associate of the Norwegian Centre for Macroeconomic and Petroleum Analysis, the Research Program in Forecasting at George Washington University and was an associate of CFAP at the University of Cambridge (2008-2012). She was on the advisory board of the Australian Defence College (2012-2014) and has been a visiting scholar at the European Central Bank, the Atlanta Federal Reserve, the International Monetary Fund, the Bank of England, Banque de France and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. In 2016 she joined the Economic Society of Australia’s National Economic Panel. 

Renée publishes in the area of financial market econometrics and macro econometrics. Her work focuses on developing frameworks to model the transmission of international financial market and economic shocks, generally to small open economies. Recently her work focusses on commodity cycles from a macroeconomic and a financial market perspective.
