Monica Pfeffer is currently the Director of Practitioner Engagement at ANZSOG and is the lead in ANZSOG for supporting the National Regulators Community of Practice, now numbering more than 4000 regulators across Australia and New Zealand. Monica came to ANZSOG in late 2009 after 27 years in the Victorian public service where she held a variety of policy and program management positions, principally in the now-Department of Health and Human Services and its predecessors as well as three separate stints in the Department of Premier and Cabinet. Her last role in the Government was as Director Social Policy.
Monica brought to ANZSOG a long standing interest in public policy and the practice of government. She is an alumna of ANZSOG’s Executive Fellows Program, author of an ANZSOG Occasional Paper and a Victorian Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration Australia and has continued to offer sessions in ANZSOG programs on the art of writing for decision makers and influencing policy. From 2011-2019 she was responsible for ANZSOG’s thought leadership activities across Australia and New Zealand, curating more than 400 events for over 40,000 participants and bringing to diverse public sector audiences 85 international and Australasian scholars, public intellectuals and public sector leaders in Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Canberra, Christchurch, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and Wellington.
