Merita Tabain has many years of experience in the communications and marketing sector and has been working with Victoria Police as the Executive Director of Media and Corporate Communications for more than seven years.

During this time she has utilised digital communication methods to inform, educate and influence the public while also strengthening the connection between Victoria Police and the community through modernised ways of engagement, dealt with emergency issues such as the tragedies of Bourke Street 1 and 2, worked on difficult major issues for the organisation surrounding Family Violence, Youth and African issues.

Before joining Victoria Police, Merita was the General Manager Communications and Marketing for Sustainability Victoria and the Executive Director, Strategic Communications at the former Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development.
