Mark gained a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University and holds an Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) from the University of WA.

Mark was awarded for his academic achievements with the IPAA Achievement Award for the Public Sector Management program in 2008 and the ANZSOG CICSO Systems Prize in 2012.

Mark is a Detective Inspector with 33 years of broad frontline, investigative and corporate experience having worked in and alongside a diverse range of state, federal and international agencies during his career.

Mark is Aboriginal, Noongar man and in more recent times been the architect in progressing reconciliation between police and Aboriginal peoples in WA. Thinking globally and acting locally, Mark has achieved strategic priorities and coordinated a number of crime, safety and social justice initiatives across Government to achieve public value for the community of WA.
