Besides being an Executive Coach and leadership developer, she’s held executive roles in government and higher education, and her approach is informed by her experience in these roles. In the Office for the Commissioner for Public Employment SA, Dr Morley was responsible for SES employment and development. As Associate Dean at Mt Eliza Executive Education, Karen had overall responsibility for leadership program design and delivery, and in her final role, headed the Executive Education business. More recently, in her own leadership consulting practice, Dr Morley completed a CEO succession process for an ASX top 20 company which included comprehensive assessments of candidates for both succession and development.

Dr Morley has delivered assessment, coaching, team and leadership development programs in organisations such as AICD, Allens, Aviva, BHP Billiton, Boral, Broadspectrum, CBA, Coles, CSL, CUB, Dept of Health & Human Services, Downer, GCC, ExxonMobil, Holden, Jacobs, KPMG, Latitude Financial, Lendlease, L’Oreal, Lumleys, Medibank, Melbourne Airport, Melbourne Water, Monash Health, National Australia Bank, Officeworks, Orica, QBE, RACV, Rural Finance, SKM, Target, The Faculty, UGL, University of Melbourne, Wesfarmers, and VisionStream.

Along the way, she completed a doctorate in leadership, published Gender Balanced Leadership: An Executive Guide, and has written numerous other working and white papers. Dr Morley is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Melbourne. She’s a registered Psychologist with a desire to align what leaders do with the available evidence for what works.

Right now Dr Morley is working with executives and human resource leaders from a range of different organisations to help leaders fulfil their potential, make leadership more inclusive, and help grow the coaching capability of leaders. 

Dr Morley lives in Melbourne. She Chairs the board of Emerge Women and Children’s Support Network which assists women and children affected by domestic violence.
