David Albury is a Board Director of Innovation Unit, a world leading agency supporting innovation in public services.
For almost two decades, David has consulted and advised on forming and implementing strategies and policies for transformation and innovation in education, healthcare and other public services. He works and speaks nationally and internationally, in the UK, Canada, US, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand, on creating the conditions for radical innovation in Governments, national agencies, localities and public service organisations. He has helped turn round failing and under-performing organisations in health, education and local government and assisted high performing organisations to break new ground and push the leading edge. David has advised local, national and international organisations across the full range of public services and has coached individual and teams of top managers and professionals.
David is an Associate of the Institute for Government, Consultant to the Global Education Leaders Partnership and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. From 2002 to 2005 he was Principal Adviser in the UK Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, where, amongst other responsibilities, he led a major review of education strategy and policy and co-authored the seminal report on Innovation in the Public Sector. Prior to his consultancy and adviser work, David held senior management positions in higher education and urban regeneration and researched, taught and wrote on the linkages between technological innovation, cultural change and organisational and system development.
