PACE overview

The Pacific Executive (PACE) Program was developed by ANZSOG in collaboration with AusAID to build capacity and strengthen reform in the Pacific region. It is designed for public sector officials in the executive ranks who have been identified as emerging and future leaders.

Cohorts of up to forty senior officials attend a three-week residential program in Canberra, undertake a work-based project in their home countries and return to Canberra 11 months later for a further one week of training to consolidate their learning.

The program fosters in its participants the ability to share a vision and to influence and achieve change. The focus on shared Pacific issues and challenges also provides the opportunity for participants to learn from each other and forge lasting networks.

PACE Extension Program

Delivered by ANZSOG in conjunction with AusAID and the Australian Public Service Commission, the PACE Extension Program provides funding for up to five graduates of the PACE Program to stay on in Australia for a work placement of up to eight weeks in an Australian government agency.

PACE Alumni

On completion of the PACE Program, participants join a growing and influential alumni network that spans the Pacific. The annual PACE alumni workshop provides an exceptional networking opportunity for both participants and presenters and continues to promote a wider awareness of the PACE Program among key stakeholders in the Pacific.

The alumni workshop is held annually, in a different country each year. Distinguished regional, Australian and New Zealand presenters from government, academia and civil society join the alumni in a highly interactive and participatory two-day workshop.
