EMPA Prize
Congratulations to this year’s recipients of the EMPA prizes, awarded to those achieving
academic excellence in each subject of the program. A special awards ceremony and dinner took place on
6 February, in Melbourne, where winners were joined by prize sponsors, sponsoring managers and special guests,
including Bruce Hartnett, Chair of the Victorian State Services Authority.

This prize is awarded to the team which gained the highest mark for the Research Project

Young Tall Poppy Awards
Congratulations are also extended to four EMPA students, from the 2004 cohort, each of whom
were presented with the IPAA Young Tall Poppies Award.
Sponsored by the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) and the Australia Institute
of Policy and Science, the awards aim to recognise achievement within the public service and
the future leadership potential of recipients.
The following winners were presented with their awards late last year:
