Pacific Executive Program (PACE)

The Pacific Executive (PACE) Program was developed by the Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) in collaboration with AusAID to build capacity and strengthen reform in the Pacific region. It is designed for public sector officials in the executive ranks who have been identified as emerging and future leaders.

PACE is a twelve month program comprising three stages: the first stage is a three week residential in Canberra; the second stage is eight months in the workplace implementing a work project strategic plan; and the third stage is a return to Canberra at the end of twelve months for a further one week.

Welcome from the Academic Director of PACE

The PACE Program is ANZSOG’s flagship program for the Pacific region. Developed in collaboration with AusAID and key stakeholders across the Pacific, the program has been designed to meet the unique learning needs of its participants, the next generation of public sector leaders in the Pacific. With a curriculum tailored to the special features of managing public services in the Pacific, the program provides each participant with an unparalleled opportunity to enhance his or her management and leadership capabilities.

Since it commenced in 2007, the PACE Program has enjoyed strong support from governments in the Pacific, and from the Australian Government. We have been privileged to deliver a program of the highest quality to keen and committed participants. And we have been especially fortunate to have access to a range of very eminent Pacific presenters, whose contributions to the program have been complemented by those of very senior academics and practitioners in Australia and New Zealand.

With its emphasis on the acquisition of high level management skills and insights, PACE offers participants an exceptional learning experience that leads to membership of a growing and influential alumni network that spans the Pacific. If you are committed to building the capacity of the public sector in the Pacific, I strongly urge you to consider becoming a participant in the PACE Program.
