About PACE

The Pacific Executive program (PACE) was developed jointly by ANZSOG and AusAID to build capacity and strengthen reform in the Pacific region. Designed for emerging public sector leaders in the Pacific, it is a twelve month program conducted in three stages. The first stage is a three week residential in Australia during which there are presentations from expert presenters from the Pacific region, Australia and New Zealand, site visits and peer clinics. Participants also work on developing a strategy to address a real-life issue from their workplace. In the second stage of the program, participants implement this strategy and prepare a report on the implementation process. In the third stage, participants return to Australia for a two week residential program which focuses upon learnings from the work project.

The program focuses on shared challenges across the Pacific. It is designed to incorporate an interactive learning process with peers, and action learning via the work project. A key feature is the development of ongoing networks within countries, across the region and with key agencies in Australia.
