This year’s annual conference, Governing and Managing in Times of Crisis, was held on 3 & 4 September, in Canberra. An unqualified success, the diverse program covered such topics as the Global Financial Crisis (GFC) and natural disasters like the Queensland oil spill and Victorian bushfires.

The Paterson Oration was delivered by The Hon. Kevin Rudd MP, Prime Minister of Australia, to a packed room of delegates and special guests, including the current cohort of PACE participants. The program also included many other high-calibre speakers:
